CDC Builders Co-Sponsors Make-A-Wish Fundraiser

Michael Ortega, President of CDC Builders and Board Member of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Southern Florida hosted and co-sponsored an evening of cocktails and burgers to raise funds for the Foundation’s Cornerstone Society. Michael along with friends Andy Sklawer, Josh Mandel, Todd Linden and each of their wives, invited friends, families and business associates to learn about the Foundation, the Cornerstone Society and to solicit their donations. "It's a unique and affordable personal giving experience where your contributions directly fund a child's heartfelt wish. You will forever impact the life of the child whose wish you fund at the end of your five-year commitment" said Michael about the Cornerstone Society.

The initial goal of $135,000.00 was surpassed with total commitments totaling $190,000.00 over five years. It was one of the Foundation’s most successful fundraising events for one evening. Norm Wedderburn, President & CEO of the Foundation said, “I’ve been involved with Make-A-Wish for over 12 years and have been to more events than you can imagine and last night ranks right up there with the best that I’ve been to.” The event took place at the Burger & Beer Joint on Miami Beach and was attended by seventy-five guests, including a Make-A-Wish mom who spoke about the positive impact a granted wish had on her late daughter.
